About LOU:

Lou is co-owned with Lizzi Bonczek who is the Upland Gamebird Biologist for Rhode Island. While Lizzi had lots of flexibility finishing grad school at LSU, Lou reaped the benefits and got lots of experience hunting different environments. Lou’s first point was on a sharp-tailed grouse in North Dakota, followed by many pheasants and a few huns, bobwhite quail in Oklahoma, and woodcock in Louisiana. Her second season was even better, chasing early-season birds in Montana, ruffed grouse and woodcock in the north woods, and finishing the season with woodcock in Louisiana. Lou has a natural back, excels at tracking, and loves busting brush, even through thick briars. One of Lizzi’s favorite moments to date was watching 6mo old Lou track a rooster 200 yds through cattail and pin it in the grass!
Lou is a natural at retrieving and the folks in her retriever training group call her “a Labrador in disguise.” Lou is a pleasure to share the blind with, to the point that you may even forget she is there! Lou marks well, loves the water, and is always ready to hunt down a cripple. We started to campaign her in retriever tests and have one pass so far.
One of Lou’s best qualities is her biddability. Lou doesn’t have a stubborn bone in her body and wants to do whatever she can to please, making her a great first pointing dog for Lizzi. True to the breed, Lou is a total goofball and a real sweetheart. She often accompanies Lizzi to the office, where it is common for visitors to compliment her calm disposition and good looks. Lou has a great off switch and is happy to lounge on the couch until it’s go-time.
Lou's dam Hattie is one of the best dogs we have produced and was an easy prize one Utility dog with an incredible tracking ability. Lou's Sire Ozzy comes from a long line of VC wirehairs from Top Shelf Kennels in North Dakota.

Owned by Sean Scanlon of Fogelsville, PA.
Finn is a talented stud dog from Schwarzwald's Kennel. He easily passed his NA at young age and moved through Utility and the invitational with minimal training. Finn has very high water and retrieve drive. He lives to search the marsh for ducks and will be swimming in water whenever it is available. He has an intense point and a natural back. Finn is an extremely cooperative dog with a very nice off switch at home. He lives with a small yorkie and cats with no issues. Finn has shown a lot of versatility and is used as an upland and waterfowl dog as well as shed hunting and deer recovery dog.
Finn's pedigree is loaded with some of the most well known wirehairs including Hank, Flint and Luke. We believe Finn has a lot to offer as a stud for our breeding program and his talents should pair really well with Lou's skills!
